GTA Online promises to bring new missions, content and, of course, the ability to run labs.

Rockstar Games has paid a lot of attention to the details of the saga that brought the company to fame. And, after the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto (its open world and crime title par excellence), it was logical that the expectations of its fans were increasingly high.

Fortunately, the franchise did not disappoint its players, rewarding them for their active participation with a week full of surprises. Among them were commemorative T-shirts, vehicle bonuses and discounts, and other special items, prompting fans to simply log in during the week of celebration to receive their rewards.

Grand Theft Auto Online will have a major update

With the above in mind, Rockstar has continued to work to improve and fix some of the most common bugs in its online game. And this is important because, although the releases of its most iconic installments were decades ago (or years, in the case of GTA V and GTA Online), players closely follow the online version. So that, recently the developer company announced its next update which will be divided into two parts and shared the release date.

Judging by GTA’s track record, it’s not surprising that this happened. After almost a decade of its launch (in 2013), Grand Theft Auto Online has received a series of updates. Many of them related to special events for important dates, such as the holidays, the inclusion of Slasher mode for Halloween, and even snow for Christmas.

In this way, players are aware that Rockstar will always have a version available for certain dates and that it will bring interesting changes (whether gameplay or not). Nevertheless, major content updates for the open world title are the ones that include additional game modes (customizable and creative). For example, when they add cars, weapons and all kinds of objects that will be used for the adventure in Los Santos.

And, as we explained in previous paragraphs, the new update, “Los Santos Drug Wars” will be released on December 13. However, Rockstar has promised big changes for the installment, such as quality of life improvements and other completely new content. Also, Rockstar announced that players will be able to “join old friend Nervous Ron” and “out-of-state misfits” to “put their stamp on the psychedelic trade” (in the words of Rockstar’s statement).

Also, Drug Wars will have other adaptations, that is, fully playable that the fan community can take advantage of to more accessible and complete their mission. The update will be available for all platforms that GTA Online can be played on: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and lastly PlayStation 5.

As if that were not enough, the news about this certainly ambitious update is not over, since Rockstar confirmed that players will be able to run their own labs, something quite novel, considering that drugs have always been a central axis in the narrative of the GTA saga. And that, in fact, it is surprising that it had not been implemented earlier. But eventually it will come.

So players will already be able to fight “an unlikely coalition of moneyed hippies and trigger-happy bikers” while earning a lot of money and prestige among the slums. Because, precisely, also the update will allow players to run their own companies and purchase vehicles for such purpose. So this means that the gameplay of GTA Online will take an interesting turn from experimental improvements.

The only “bad” thing is that Rockstar didn’t give any great details about the update.Although he did mention that there will be new missions and some players are already eager to find out what they will be, since there are no clues related to them. Of course, these brief details were described as the initial part of two parts, in which there will be more new content and other events.

So we will have to be patient to discover what awaits us in the second part. But the ads are pretty compelling, and if they’re as Rockstar has promised, the experience will be greatly improvedsince having more extensive possibilities of managing companies and laboratories, the game options can lead to many risky and fun missions.
