official statement
It all started on Saturday night when the classic initiation party was held, also called “baptism”, in which those soldiers who achieved their “destiny” are received after being received in the Military school.
According to information provided by local media, from the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Corrientes detailed that it was 5 in the morning on Sunday when a duty officer was alerted by two of Chirino’s colleagues, who warned him that the second lieutenant was unconscious in the room.
The duty officer went to the room and found that his vital signs were very weak and the young man was transferred to the San José hospital. There, despite the tasks of the doctors, the soldier died.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the local police doctor Chief Commissioner Carlos Vizcainoestimated that death would have occurred after a picture of aspiration although the results of the autopsy are awaited to determine the official cause.
In principle, the case was investigated as a cause of death investigation, but having decompensated in an Army detachment after an initiation party, the cause later passed into the hands of the Federal Justice of Paso de los Libres and was in charge of the prosecutor Fabian Martinez.
The Argentine Army issued a statement on Monday afternoon, stating that the young man “was resting” in the Officers’ Casino of the Military Unit when “he suffered a decompensation picture.” They also mourned “the death” of Chirino and accompanied “his closest comrades and loved ones in pain.”
It was also reported that the Commander of the 12th Monte Brigade and the Chief of the Monte 3 Artillery Group met with the father and relatives of the deceased second lieutenant to assist him, provide him with support and accompaniment. The remains of the young man were transferred to the city of Río Cuarto, Córdoba.
