If just a few days ago the sales figures for Spyro Reignited Trilogy were updated in anticipation of its 25th anniversary, the wait for next September 9 was exciting the followers of the purple dragon that returned in 2018 with a remastering of its first three games. Now, the return of the franchise is confirmed, although not in the most desired way.
As revealed in July, Crash Team Rumble hides the return of Spyro the Dragon through its gameplay data, which can be investigated by dataminers. In this way, it was found that Spyro, Ripto and Elora will be playable characters of the multiplayer title, something that has begun to be confirmed by Toys for Bob itself, developer of the game.
Crash Team Rumble has revealed that it will start its season 2 on September 12 with new game modes, maps and other news. Now, Spyro’s account on the social network X has confirmed that Ripto will be one of the new characters in the game, hoping that the purple dragon and Elora will be throughout this season or a future one. It is unknown if it will be in this one, since the first season of the game only included two new heroes.

The hopes that Spyro will announce a new game this September 9 are somewhat low, being able to wait for now only his return as a playable character in Crash Team Rumble.
