The Minister of Security of the Province of Buenos Aires, Sergio Berni, arrived at the cut that carriers were making this morning on the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway and threatened them: “You have five minutes to lift the cut. If not, I will take you into custody.” , one by one, and hijack the trucks.”
The official met one of the representatives of the protesters, who asked him to organize a meeting with the National Minister of Transportation, Alexis Guerrera, in exchange for freeing up more lanes.
Indeed, the security forces were present and in a few minutes the carriers ran the vehicles, despite the intention of some of them to maintain the force measure. “He came to threaten us, if we’re picketers, he might let us camp. We’re going to fix the shoulder and free up one more lane, but we’re going to stay here,” one of them had warned.
The measure of force occurs within the framework of the protests due to the lack of diesel. According to the latest survey of the Argentine Federation of Freight Transport Business Entities (FADEEAC), there are 21 provinces affected by the lack of fuel. In 14 of them, very low or no supply is recorded at service stations.
