The federal prosecutor of Lomas de Zamora, Cecilia Incardona, requested to continue with the investigation into the Iranian pilot of the Venezuelan plane Emtrasur, Ghasemi Gholamreza, for possible acts of terrorism, and also his crew members.
Within the opinion presented this afternoon before the federal judge Federico Villena, the prosecutor highlighted the need to continue the investigation “regarding Ghasemi Gholamreza, all the crew that depended on him, the aircraft and its cargo, in accordance with the obligations of the State Argentina to prevent and punish acts of terrorism,” according to judicial sources.
The ruling was presented to the judge, after receiving the FBI report that would confirm the connection of the pilot of the aircraft detained in Ezeiza, Ghasemi Gholamreza, with the Quds Forces, the division of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard specialized in intelligence operations, and with Hezbollah.
Incardona also requested that the ownership of the Emtrasur aircraft be proven, to confirm whether the Mahan Air firm still has some kind of connection with the plane stranded in Ezeiza.
Likewise, the prosecutor asked to inquire about the cargo that the plane was transporting, “in order to verify if the declared commercial operation coincides with the real content of the merchandise that the plane was transporting.”
