Micromanía magazine has just announced that issue 335 of its third period will be the last, as it says goodbye to its readers after almost 39 years of stories, being one of the most historic magazines internationally and, of course, in Spain. The press (and magazines) was losing its audience with the arrival of digital media and, despite having tried to face the new times, PC gamer experts are forced to say goodbye.
Micromanía was born in 1985 as a monthly magazine, with a bimonthly period, as it lived through three periods throughout its life. Actually, The magazine has had a total of 450 issues, since from 1985 to 1988 it had 35 issues, from 1988 to 1995 with 80 issues and since then with 335 issues until now. In this way, its publishers were HobbyPress, which was later absorbed by Axel Springer, before becoming independent and moving to BlueOcean Publishing. From May 2023, The magazine was published exclusively in GAME stores.

Video game magazines in Spain
Gone are those times when kiosks had video game magazines for all tastes. Playmanía and the Official Nintendo Magazine also had their audience focused, while Hobbyconsolas remains on sale for the taste of all players. In international terms, Edge magazine continues to be one of the best known, fighting against times in which physical circulation no longer achieves the numbers it once did.
