After directing his first training session, Carlos Tevez was officially presented as the new coach of Rosario Central. In a press conference, offered this Tuesday in the Centennial Hall of the Gigante de Arroyito stadium, the “Apache”, who will have his first experience as a coach, spoke about his arrival, the present of the squad and the goals for the future.
“The first challenge as a coach was in Central because of its people. I was in many clubs, but Rosario has that plus of people. If we do things well, we can make a lot of noise and a lot of history. For this reason, I fully trust that my group and I can do something nice with Rosario Central. I am convinced of that”, expressed Tevez.
In turn, the former Boca Juniors player referred to the reasons that led him to direct the “Canalla”: “I was thinking about which club I would like to grab. I had written down a sheet. I would like to grab this one, this one was not. Central was one of those four. When they called me from Central, I said yes I listened to their proposal. Hence the desire. “
“We come with a clear idea. We know we have shortcomings as a team. Central is one thing for local and another for visitor. Yesterday playing as a visitor the level of the boys drops. Referring to the ideas that he will try to apply, “Apache” stated: “We have to look for an identity as a team. People have to feel identified. It is the most difficult thing. We are going to work very hard to find it. First, the change of attitude. The attitude in this club is not negotiable. I told the boys up front. They have to prove it in every training session and game. Whoever doesn’t has the door open to leave. Central is a sleeping giant, it has to wake up We have to take this club to another step, which is to compete. Everyone here starts from scratch, and they have to show that they want to play in Central. The talk I had with the players is between me and them.”
“First and foremost, to grab Central I had to see the squad it had. I trust these players a lot. I haven’t asked for any player yet. For the Central fan, Tevez’s last name is unknown, but it brings many things to light as well. Many things were said that are not true. I haven’t asked for any backup. A year ago I stopped playing. When a coach arrived and there was talk of reinforcements, I didn’t like it. I respect him very much. I haven’t talked to any of them.
