Despite the enormous success achieved these days on PC, as the second best release of the year on Steam, the guys at Larian Studios have not rested on their laurels and have already published the Baldur’s Gate III First Hotfix Update which is responsible for fix numerous errors, failures, bugs, etc..

Baldur’s Gate III features More words than The Lord of the Rings trilogymore cinematics than the duration of all Game of Thrones and a Traditional RPG gameplay based on Dungeons and Dragons most complex and sophisticated, so it is normal that its first days in the market have some failures and things that do not quite fit as they should. Although many of them have already been solved thanks to this Hotfix 1 is now available.

All Baldur’s Gate III latest patch adjustments

Apparently, as reported by Larian Studios, the culprit behind many of Baldur’s Gate III’s launch errors is the cross save system, preventing progress from being saved, among other things. For now, has been deactivatedfor the moment, and a lot of other things have been corrected.

You can take a look at the full patch notes from Steam, but the list of major fixes and tweaks of this Baldur’s Gate III Hotfix 1 is as follows:

Accidents and crashes

Fixed being able to get stuck in a dialogue on the first confrontation with a major boss. Fixed a rare issue where player character statuses would not update correctly – after dying. Fixed a crash that could occur related to one of Astarion’s cinematic dialogues in the endgame. Fixed a crash that could occur when loading an old save game while in Last Light. Fixed a crash that could occur when using the brain reader in the Colony.Fixed an issue that could cause you to get stuck in a loading screen when loading a save game after dying.Fixed a crasher during character creation that would prevent you from progressing if you chose a tiefling of Zariel as your Guardian.Fixed a potential crash caused by the lights system.Added an error message to prevent crashes caused by mods when starting the game.Larian account cross saves temporarily disabled to resolve an issue that was blocking loads and the saved Steam cross saves are not affected.Fixed a starting crash with the Steam API.Fixed a crash that could occur when fast loading a game while a container or corpse was open for looting.Fixed a crash that could occur if an item unlocks a spell for a game entity with no stats. Fixed a crash that could occur when changing a race or class in character creation. Fixed possible crashes that could occur when closing screens such as the options menu or at the end of dialogues. Fixed a potential crash when an enemy tries to use the Motivator during combat in the Steel Watch Foundry. Fixed a crash that could occur if you choose to attack the Emperor during a dialogue after siding with him. fixed a crash in PhysX.

multiplayer

Players will now correctly join cinematic dialogue that requires all players to be present if they were previously listening.Fixed an issue that allowed players to listen to private dialogue using the context menu.Fixed an issue that caused players to join stuck and couldn’t join a dialog if someone else was already in a dialog.

gameplay

Fixed hair physics on strong male drow and elf body types. Fixed an issue that would cause phase spiders to skip their turn in combat if standing on a web that had been destroyed. Fixed an issue with the dice roll, where retrying could cause the roll to fail if you were applying bonuses and clicking too fast. Duplicate spells no longer appear in follower hotbars and you can no longer customize their radial menus. (Important to note: Followers are not companions or full party members.) Fixed Dark Urge randomization on character creation for non-white dragonborn characters. Fixed an issue that prevented you from interacting with Withers in a of the camp locations.

User interface

Fixed issues with cinematic dialogue when listening. Fixed an issue that caused character models for Half-Orcs, Dragonborn, and Half-elves to not update correctly when removing armor on the character sheet. Fixed some issues with spells prepared during Level Up, when multiclassing.Hided version number during dialogues.Fixed split screen cutscenes showing garbage samples.

Audio

Fixed audio issues with growling, screaming, and groaning in gameplay and cutscenes. Fixed a line cutting when talking to the restless Myconid in the Underdark. Removed a clicking sound during the credits. audio in a dialogue with Mayrina in the Lower City.

Motor

Fixed a bug that caused textures to appear in bright neon colors. Fixed a split screen issue that caused characters to remain invisible after a dialogue ended. Fixed an aspect ratio issue when FSR is active during Split screen. Fixed surface texture details not updating when changing texture detail in in-game video options.

We will see what happens next with the cross-save when the release date of Baldur’s Gate III on PS5 approaches, the next September 6.
