At the start of the second week of the League of Nations, the Argentine men’s national team lost to Japan 3-1, with splits of 27-25, 25-18, 17-25 and 25-16, in Quezon City, Philippines. Bruno Lima was the top national scorer with 18 points.
The start of the game was with a high level by the National Team, which escaped 8-2 with a good volume of play and adding with Lima. Later, Palacios came to have more of a role in the Argentine attack, but Japan grew in level, especially from the serve, and got closer 14-16. Finally, the Asians managed to tie it at 19 and with Nishida as a figure, they ended up taking it 27-25 after an ace.

In the second chapter, the development began point by point with both teams dividing more the game for 8 equals. Later, Japan took off 16-13 when they achieved a more forceful passage in blocking and attacking and hurting more with their serves. From then on, the Japanese team took advantage of rival errors for 22-16 and resolved it 25-18 with a point from Nishida’s serve.
With Lazo on serve, Argentina started the third chapter up 5-1 and sustained that good moment 15-9 thanks to Lima and Palacios. Japan appealed to the changes to try to reverse history, but the National Team did not let up, added with Loser and discounted 25-17 after a rival serve error.
In the fourth set, Japan hit from the start with their serves to take the lead 7-3. From then on, the Asians continued with greater force and despite some good moments for the National Team, they maintained that dominance by 17-10. In the outcome the story did not change and Japan closed the match 25-16.
