The former president and current member of San Lorenzo, Matías Lammens, stated that the club must call elections “yes or yes this year”, after the departure of Marcelo Tinelli from the presidency and with the aim of regularizing its institutional situation.

In this sense, the Minister of Government commented: “Given the departure of Tinelli from San Lorenzo, elections must be called yes or yes this year to normalize the institutional situation. It is what corresponds because the authorities have to be legitimized”, in an interview with Radio 10.

In this way, Lammens sent the request to his peers on the board of directors and pointed out: “I said it publicly and that is what has to happen in the next few days. I told my peers on the board of directors; I have no doubt that that they have to be this year”, and added: “It is not logical that it continues to function without the president that the partners elected three years ago”.

Currently, San Lorenzo is chaired by Horacio Arreceygor, who leads the club through a strong institutional, economic and football crisis for several seasons. This situation created a lot of anger in the stands, where fans shout every weekend for early elections.
