These were carried out in areas of gastronomic premises and distribution centers of the companies in districts such as Almirante Brown, Avellaneda, Lanús, Quilmes, Berazategui, Lomas de Zamora, La Plata, La Matanza, Morón, San Isidro, San Martín, Tres de Febrero. and Bell.

In addition, controls were also organized in the areas of José C. Paz, San Miguel, Zárate, Pilar, Pinamar, Azul, Junín, Mar del Plata, Necochea, Tandil and Bahía Blanca.

“It is good news that there is now a real discussion about the very precarious situation of these workers who go out on the street without coverage for anything and that some of them pay for personal accident insurance themselves because if something happens to them, nobody covers them,” commented the labor minister, Maria Ruiz Malec.

And he added: “The State must be protecting workers against these apps that, despite being millionaires, deny them the most basic rights.”

The labor portfolio presented that these delivery applications call themselves “technology companies that only provide a computer tool that individually connects service providers with consumers.”

But behind this “they conceal the employment relationship they have with tens of thousands of people who must register as monotributistas or self-employed.” Therefore, this implies “that they do not have a basic salary, but they must comply with a stipulated schedule, a certain amount of daily hours and, although they do not have a physical or fixed place of work, they must concentrate in specific areas where they receive orders for realize”.

For its part, the Ministry said that these procedures “seek to advance in the recognition of the labor rights of thousands of Buenos Aires residents who work with these distribution applications throughout the province.”
