The story delves into the visual landscape of a dangerous and distorted Manhattan, where a woman navigates a demilitarized zone on a harrowing quest to find her missing son.

The series stars Rosario Dawson, Benjamin Bratt, Hoon Lee, Freddy Miyares, Jordan Preston Carter, and Venus Ariel. The cast is completed Rutina Wesley, Nora Dunn, Jade Wu, Rey Gallegos, Mamie Gummer, Agam Darshi, Juani Feliz, Henry G. Sanders.
This adaptation was created for television by Patino, based on the play written by Brian Wood and illustrated by Riccardo Burchielli, and also serving as showrunner and writer for the first episode, directed by DuVernay.
