The meeting between officials and carriers was suspended

Given the lack of diesel and after the protests that took place throughout the country, the technical teams of the Ministry of Transportation of the Nation and the province of Buenos Aires and officials of the Ministry of Energy with the carriers were going to meet this afternoon to deal with the lack of fuel, but the representatives of the sector rejected the meeting due to the absence of the minister, Alexis Guerrera. In addition, the carriers ratified the continuity of the force measures throughout the country “for an indefinite period of time until the necessary measures are taken.”

The meeting was to take place at 5:00 p.m. at the Ministry of Transportation of the Nation, in the Freight Transportation area in downtown Buenos Aires, after the traffic cut that took place this morning on the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway that began around 6 o’clock at the Dock Sud toll booth to Capital Federal, a key access point for entering the metropolitan area from the south.

“We decided not to start a conversation with any other intermediary other than the minister (Alexis Guerrera). On the routes, the cuts will continue throughout the country,” said the representative of the National Union of Carriers and Allied Workers (Untra), Ariel Santa Coloma.

For his part, from the Entrerriana Transport Federation, Sebastián Gothe, assured that “the situation is complex and not having the meeting that the minister promised us complicates the situation.” However, Gothe affirmed that they are “open to dialogue” to agree “with the necessary actors” on a short- and medium-term solution to the issue of diesel supply.
