On date 11 of the Professional League Cup, Estudiantes beat Tigre 2-1 at the Uno stadium in La Plata, in a match corresponding to Group B of the contest. With this result, “Pincha” remains the only leader in his area and is practically qualified for the next phase of the tournament.
In the first half, the match was even and there were no clear chances for both teams, although the team led by Ricardo Zielinski got closer to the rival area.
In the second half, everything changed and there were more dangerous actions. In fact, in the first moments, Tigre had two clear chances, but could not make them happen. When it seemed that the “Matador” could open the scoring, Estudiantes scored the 1-0, at 73 minutes, through Franco Zapiola, who took a powerful shot from outside the area after a rebound.
A few moments later, “Pincha” scored 2-0 thanks to Mauro Boselli, who only had to push the ball into the goal.
In added time, Tigre got the discount through Nicolás Demartini, who took advantage of the fact that the ball drifted after a rebound by goalkeeper Mariano Andújar.
At 2-1, Estudiantes leads Group B of the Professional League Cup with 24 units, six behind Tigre, the shooting guard. On the next date, the “Pincha” will visit Colón, while the “Matador” will receive Arsenal in Victoria.
