Why are workers, actresses, actors and the film collective mobilized?

The main reason for the mobilization against the administration of Puenzo, who in his two years at the head of INCAA did not change the Development Plan“tax in the government of Mauricio Macri that concentrates film production in the largest production companies based in AMBA.”

This is specified through an open letter that the group of filmmakers sent to the Culture Minister Tristan Bauerpresent at the mobilization, who and demanded the release of the protesters.

In addition, the group denounces that Puenzo “did not carry out policies that promote film production in the Provinces”, nor “established any measure aimed at reversing the enormous gender inequalities when directing or occupying central roles in technical teams ( even stated publicly and without blushing that he had never seen real gender conflicts in cinema), he did not take the lead nor did he accompany the claim of the sector for the imminence of the expiration that implies the lack of financing of the area he leads and he limited himself to asking in a meeting that we cross our fingers so that the deputy’s bill comes out Paul Carro“.

This last point refers to the legislator’s initiative to extend the development fund beyond 2022.

As another of the claims that show the crisis in the audiovisual sector, they state that “national festivals were defunded, the Incaa Spaces network was not promoted, and the National Image Archive and Cinematheque was not launched.”
