How to Save WhatsApp Status Video on Android

The whole process requires a file manager on your Android smartphone. You can use any file manager you like, but the steps may vary. For simplicity, we have used the Google Files app, which is a free file manager app for Android, in this tutorial. It comes pre-installed on Google Pixel smartphones and you can easily download and install it through Google Play.

Now, follow these steps to save WhatsApp status video on your Android smartphone:

Open the Google Files app on your Android smartphone, click the hamburger icon in the top left, and tap Settings.Similarly, if you’re using a Pixel smartphone, open the Files app, click the three dots at the top right and tap Settings. On the next screen, enable Show hidden files. On Pixel smartphones, you need to enable Show internal storage. Now go back to the Files app main menu and tap on Internal storage. Now go to WhatsApp folder > Media > ‘.Statuses’. To save a photo or video, long press and tap Copy. Now paste the file to any folder of your choice in the phone’s internal storage.

By following these steps, you will be able to save any photo or video that has been set as a contact’s WhatsApp status. This method allows you to save any WhatsApp status you have opened, even if it has been more than 24 hours since the status was posted.
