During the recording of his famous white album (The White Album) in 1968, guitarist George Harrison was not happy with some things.
One of his songs called “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” was not being taken very seriously by the other members of the band, according to Harrison later.
It was there that Harrison called on his good friend, Clapton, to play the solo for the song.
The other members of the group took it very well and, in fact, took the Clapton-enhanced recording more seriously than Harrison’s own.
As they say, Paul McCartney sat down to play the piano as an introduction to Clapton’s solo and finally the song was included in one of the legendary band’s albums.
