Bagnis won the final of the Pereira Challenger

The Santa Fe Facundo Bagnis was awarded this afternoon the final between Argentine players who played against Facundo Mena from Buenos Aires and won the title in the Pereira Tennis Challenger, in Colombia, a tournament that awarded prizes of $53,100 and was held on clay.

The tennis player born in the town of Armstrong, located in position 104 in the world ranking, clearly prevailed in the decisive match and beat Mena (181), with partials of 6-3 and 6-0.

In this way, starting tomorrow, the player from Santa Fe will once again be on the list of the top 100 players in the ranking and will occupy position 93.

Bagnis, top favorite for the Colombian challenger, won the fifteenth title in his career in this type of event. He also got his 311th win and is 10th among the most winners. The historical record is in the hands of retired Spaniard Rubén Ramírez Hidalgo, with 423 celebrations.

So far in the 2022 season, three other Argentine tennis players have been champions in Challengers: last January, Santiago Rodríguez Taverna from Buenos Aires won in Tigre and Francisco Cerúndolo from Buenos Aires did it in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Meanwhile, last March, in the Bío Bío contest in Concepción, Tomás Etcheverry from La Plata emerged as the winner.
