If you are a follower of The Witcher franchise you will have heard about the “Sirius Project”, a mode focused on bringing us this saga in multiplayer format. While we know there are several projects in development involving Geralt of Rivia, it looks like we won’t be able to enjoy any of them anytime soon. While this seems like a complicated development, CD Projekt RED is not giving up and wants to re-engineer this.

The creator of Cyberpunk 2077 nearly a million dollars spent in the development of this Sirius Project. However, after CDPR has assessed the scope and commercial potential of the game, it is now looking at a different vision for the multiplayer installment of The Witcher. After The Witcher 3, many players are looking forward to getting back into their magical worlds.

The Witcher multiplayer game is delayed

It is true that there was no departure date, neither certain nor close; absolutely nothing was known. Yet now With this new news that it is being developed again, it seems that we will not be able to enjoy this new installment until at least a couple of years from now. But luckily, CD Projekt RED fans have nothing to fear, there are many installments to look forward to: starting with the new Cyberpunk 2077 DLC.

Yes, The Witcher hasn’t stopped growing in popularity all this time, from books, video games, the Netflix series and even the animated movie that we can see on the same streaming platform. Geralt’s saga is being enjoyed by more and more people, in addition, something that is also known is that The Witcher 4 is in development. So yeah, we’re also expecting a release date soon.

The aforementioned decision is based on the results of the evaluation of the scope and commercial potential of the original concept of Project Sirius, as well as the ongoing work to formulate a new framework for this project.

For now we will have to stay tuned for new information, but we remind you that CD Project RED also has a remake of the first installment of The Witcher in its folder, in total there are four Geralt games that are already in development. It seems that the fans can rest easy, there is plenty of material to brighten our days.
