Pre-orders on Steam and consoles point to one of the first big releases of 2023.

The hat will do its job at Hogwarts Legacy

Just a month after its launch, and despite being surrounded by the debate about whether or not its purchase is ethical as it is a game linked to JK Rowling, Hogwarts Legacy bookings could signal a successful launch. At the time of writing this news, the game published by Warner Bros. Games is at number 5 on Steam’s top saleswhich is based on profits generated rather than units sold.

In fact, Hogwarts Legacy has been the best-selling game in recent days, since the titles that surpass it are free-to-plays that have microtransactions, such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and Apex Legends. Likewise, Steam Deck, Valve’s console, is at number 2.

In this way, the game based on the Wizarding World is the best-selling game on Steam superando a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (rank #8) and FIFA 23 (position no. 10), while, on the other hand, members of the video game industry claim to hear that reservations for the console versions are high, predicting a gigantic launch, “easily one of the biggest of 2023“.

Hogwarts Legacy opens in just one month

Following recent delays, Hogwarts Legacy will be released on February 10, 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC; the April 4 from 2023 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; and in July for Nintendo Switch. The versions of PS5 and PS4 have with an exclusive mission called Hogsmeade’s Haunted Shop, noting the generation console for its unique features.

If a great launch is secured, Hogwarts Legacy will compete with the most wanted games of 2023: Final Fantasy XVI, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Marlve’s Spider-Man 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil 4 o Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
